Billy Flash Little - Daily Adventures

This blog is for 3 lovely children who have kindly gifted me their Guinea Pig to keep me company at home. The fence is too high for them to look over easily when he's in his pen in the garden, and they can't see him at all when he's in his temporary hutch on the patio, or in the future when he's in his inside run in the house. Also, because I am disabled, they cannot just pop round into the garden to see him because of the Coronavirus. So, this blog will give them photos and videos of what he's been doing on days when they can't see for themselves.

Billy's First Night - Friday 19 June 2020

The children and their parents set up the Run with me and hammered in tent pegs, and attached cabin hooks to his Hutch to keep Billy safe. The wire roof for the Run was not finished, so we used tent pegs and cable ties and wire as a temporary roof with logs on the top to hold it down.  My other neighbour said 'They're cats not lions!' so it was very secure!

 We fed him carrot, courgette, cherry tomato, yellow pepper and fresh coriander/cilantro.  Billy grabbed the carrot and then the courgette. He likes these, and the coriander. He didn't try the tomato and pepper until the next day. I also gave him a large apple twig with leaves on. I was surprised how strongly the sap smelled of apples - lovely aroma!

At midnight I lost my nerve and shut the ramp to close him into the Hutch, making sure his water and pellet bowls were full.
